The Fringe Level is the beginning level of most individuals who are drawn into the occult.

Most of the activities associated with the fringe level are seemingly innocent.

Fringe activities that draw individuals into the occult are:

  • The Ouija Board is used to seek answers ti the future and also to communicate with the dead. Dr. Carl Wickland, former director of the Psychopatich Institute of Chicago discovered that his seemingly harmless experience led to insanity with several individuals. The Ouija Board is a fringe snare leading further into the darker realm of the occult.
  • Dungeons and Dragons is one of the most effective, most magnificently packaged and marketed, most thoroughly researched introduction to the occult, according to Dr. Gary North. Dungeons and Dragons ia a fantasy roleplaying game that teaches demonology, witchcraft, voodoo, murder, rape, blasphemy, suicide, assassination, insanity, sex, perversion, homosexuality, prostitution, Satan worship, gambling, Jungian psychology, barbarism, cannibalism, sadism, desecration, demons summoning, mecromantics, divination, and many other occult themes in living color.
  • Palmistry to have fortunes told. Tarot cards to read the future.
  • Watching horror videos or movies that deal with some aspect of the occult.
  • Listening to Heavy Metal Music or Black Metal Music that teaches the darkest side of the occult.
  • Reading mystery or horror books.
  • Keeping up with one's horoschope, having personal charts made and read by astrologers open up a deeper level of involvement.
  • Studying some types of martial arts, interest in ESP, painting or tattoos with occult symbols, dressing in black to gain attention.
   

ITEM: In Jefferson Township, New Jersey, teenager Thomas Sullivan, Jr., stabbed to death his mother Betty Ann, thirty-seven, in the baement of the family's home. Afterwards, he sets the living room couch on fire an apparent effort to burn down the house and kill his father and younger brother. Then he fled and committed suicide by slitting his wrists while leaning against a neighbor's backyard shed. The entire week before the slaying, young Sullivan had been singing a rock song about blood and matricide. Poice divulged that Sullivan a talented student, Boy Scout, and outstanding athlete-had been a member of an adolescent satanic group in the area. He was also a fan of metal music, the lyrics of which he recited constantly. Before the tragedy, Sullivan had confided to some friends that he had a vision of Satan, who instructed him to murder his family
